The Movement Activites

The Movement continues to gain momentum, and with activities scheduled throughout the year, we are working to ensure that Ghanaians are engaged and are active participants in bringing change to Ghana’s environment and landscape. Below are a number of activities that are due to take place this year. We encourage organizations, churches, schools and the wider public to support and patronize these initiatives.

TREE PLANTING CAMPAIGN

The Campaign is to encourage corporate entities, schools, churches and home associations to demonstrate their commitment to a greener environment by purchasing and planting as many trees as possible, in their communities and neighborhoods.

ROUNDABOUTS/GARDEN POINT REVAMP

In partnership with the Department of Parks and Gardens, the Movement will also bring the Unusual Garden concept to various roundabouts/garden points around town which have been left bare.

GARDENING CLUBS

Gardening Clubs are set to spring up in various hubs and localities all over the country. These clubs will allow adults and children in their various neighborhoods, schools, churches and workplaces to come together to share tips regarding garden and flower cultivation and care, as well as other environmental issues.

GHANA GARDEN AND FLOWER MOVEMENT WORKSHOPS AND GREEN CAREERS SEMINARS

Workshops are targeted at institutions, schools and home associations who have interested parties or gardeners requiring training to maintain their gardens. Workshops for school children shall also be held throughout the year to get children deeply rooted in the basics of gardening.

JAZZ NIGHT AT PARKS AND GARDENS

Jazz Night at Parks and Garden’s introduces participants to a musical event held in a serene garden setting.
